New Release! Seed Money: Book One of the Elderstrain Project
Hello readers!
It's JUNE! It's a lovely 80 degrees outside and if it weren't for the hundred or so bug bites on my arms and legs, I would be enjoying it immensely! Yes, I went to Florida to honor my late father's service with the Navy SEALs. We stayed a few extra days to visit with my husband's bestie who lives an hour or so away from Orlando. The last day we were there, the no-see-ums came out and feasted on my tasty skin. They largely left the guys alone, strangely, and I'm itchy as hell. Super unfair!
Today, I finally (FINALLY!) posted one of the ... what is it, FIVE? SIX?? ... books I've been working on.
This one is Seed Money, Part One of the Elderstrain Project.
The blurb goes thusly:
With each generation, more Lycan chose human mates, and the number of pureblood Lycan continued to decline. Experts predicted that within five or six generations, pure Lycan could become nearly extinct.
Gabriel Townsend had always been fascinated by genetics. When he learned he carried the rare Hemizygous Lycanthrope gene—an ancient, sex-linked marker found only in male descendants of the legendary Elderstrain bloodline—he saw an opportunity to help secure the future of his people. He volunteered as a donor through Arcadia Family Services for Lycan, helping infertile couples build the families they dreamed of having.
Among all the families he worked with, Jake and Kelsey Newman became his favorites. What began as a professional arrangement soon grew into a lasting friendship. Along the way, Gabe found his own mate, Molly, and eventually retired from the family-building business. But when tragedy strikes, Gabe finds himself facing responsibilities he never expected—and a future he never planned for.
Bennett Chambers received the same life-changing news: he, too, carried the exceptionally rare Elderstrain gene. After weighing his options, he left his career in the trades and dedicated himself to helping infertile Lycan men build the families they dreamed of having.
His first clients, Meg and Carter Langley, quickly became close friends. Over the years, Bennett helped them welcome seven children into the world. The lines between client and family blurred long ago, making it impossible for him to remain emotionally distant.
When a devastating workplace accident leaves Meg widowed with seven young children, Bennett is forced to confront a future he never considered. As grief gives way to healing and friendship deepens into love, he must decide whether he is ready to become the man Meg and her children need.
Seed Money is a heartwarming tale of family, sacrifice, and unexpected love, where two men set out to preserve a fading bloodline and discover that destiny has plans of its own, and that the greatest legacy they leave behind may not be genetic at all.
This was a fun story to write, imagining what the donor and recipient families would feel and what might happen when the reality of creating offspring hit them in the feels.
And you're looking at this title and saying, "Book one?"
Yes!
I have one more nearly finished and a third book started!
Book Two is called The One for Me, Book Two of the Elderstrain Project, and will be available *hopefully* in a couple of weeks.
Book Three, tentatively called The Next Generation, is some distance from completion, but I have a few other books nearly finished as well. Keep an eye peeled for Red Card Roommate--a sports romance, and a follow-up to that one that has a working title of Off Sides Girl. Yet another Lycan Society book, currently called The Lycan Dig, is in process and may be combined with another writing exercise I was doing many months ago that harkens back to some origins of Lycan history.
Will there be a book four? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, enjoy the lastest (my 29th!) in paperback or in e-book on KU, and I'll post again when the next novel hits the digital shelves.
